How to Assemble IKEA STRANDMON Wing Chair

Step-by-step assembly

1. 

   Step 1

   Screw 2 threaded studs (114509) into the base of the back.

   Lay the back face-up on a soft surface. Screw them in by hand.

   Step 2

   Lower the seat onto the 2 studs.

   Seat upside down, underside facing you.

3. 

   Step 3

   Fit a washer (100837) and a nut (100712) on each stud.

   Tighten the nuts with the box spanner (120202).

   Turn the chair onto its side.

   Screw on the 2 rear legs (131290) with a large washer (108014).

   Screw them in straight, by hand. The rear legs are the smaller pair.

   Screw on the 2 front legs (131289) with a large washer (108014).

   Stand the chair on its legs.

   Screw a hook (150022) onto each side unit with screw 101084.

   One hook and one screw per side. Use the Phillips screwdriver.

   Hook the first side unit into the slot on the back.

    Press the side down until its top is level with the back.

    Tip the chair over so the fitted side is on top.

    Fit 2 bolts (131128) with washers (100837) through the seat frame.

    Tighten by hand. The side must sit flush with the seat.

    Tighten both bolts with the box spanner (120202).

    Stand the chair up again.

    Hook the second side unit into the back, then press it down.

    Its top must be level with the top of the back.

    Tip the chair onto its other side.

    Fit 2 bolts (131128) with washers (100837), then tighten.

    Hand-tight first, then use the box spanner (120202).
