How to Assemble IKEA POÄNG Armchair Frame

Step-by-step assembly

1. 

   Step 1

   Push the 4 back slats into one of the curved back rails.

   The slat with the textured strip goes second from the top. Check each slat’s curve as shown.

   Press the second back rail onto the other ends of the slats.

   Step 3

   Fix the top rail with 4 bolts (119046).

   Use the 119046 bolts here — not the look-alike 120925.

   Turn the back over and fix the other rail with 4 bolts (119046).

5. 

   Step 5

   Bring the seat to the lower ends of the back.

   Stand the back up so the seat can lie flat on the floor.

   Fix the seat with 2 bolts (120925) — one each side.

   Use 120925 here, not 119046.

   Slide the 2 seat bars into the sleeves along the seat fabric.

   Push them in until the ends sit on the front rail. Check the curve faces as shown.

   Fix the seat bars with 4 bolts (120925).

   Two at the front, two at the back.

   Turn the frame onto its side.

    Put a washer (102319) on the back rail and a pin (123786) in the seat front.

    They are for the left side frame.

    Lay the side frame on and fix it with bolt 146654.

    Use 146654 here — the longer 122606 bolts come next.

    Push a barrel nut (100514) into each rail, then fit both rails.

    Their pins go into the side frame.

    Align the barrel nut with a flat screwdriver, as the manual shows.
