How to Assemble IKEA STIG Bar Stool with Backrest

Step-by-step assembly

1. 

   Step 1

   Fix the straight rail to one leg frame with a bolt (105107).

   Use the rail with one hole mark. Turn the bolt in by hand only.

   Step 2

   Fit the second leg frame onto the rail — 1 bolt (105107).

   Hand-tight for now; the bolts are tightened in steps 12–14.

3. 

   Step 3

   Fit a backrest upright inside the frame — bolt 105105 and nut 100716.

   The flat end goes on the inside of the frame. Hand-tighten — no wrench yet.

4. 

   Step 4

   Fit the curved rail at the back — 1 bolt (105107).

   Use the curved rail with two hole marks.

5. 

   Step 5

   Fit the second upright, then bolt the rail end (105107).

   Its flat end goes between the frame and the end of the back rail.

6. 

   Step 6

   Fix this upright with bolt 105105 and nut 100716.

   Hand-tight for now.

7. 

   Step 7

   Fit the lower front rail between the front legs — 2 bolts (105107).

   Use the rail with three hole marks; check the marks as the manual shows.

   Step 8

   Push the backrest down onto both uprights.

9. 

   Step 9

   Fix the backrest with 2 screws (107399) from the back.

   Use the Phillips screwdriver.

    Step 10

    Hold the footrest between the legs.

    The bent front goes at the front of the stool.

    Fix the footrest to the front legs — 2 bolts (120926).

    The short bolts go through the legs into the footrest tabs.

    Fix the footrest to the back legs — 2 bolts (117626).

    Tighten the 2 bolts 105105 with the Allen key.

    Hold the nut on the inside with the wrench while you turn.

    Tighten all 6 bolts 105107 with the Allen key.

    Tighten the 4 footrest bolts with the Allen key.

    2 × 120926 at the front, 2 × 117626 at the back.

16.

    Hook the front of the seat onto the frame.

    Tilt the back of the seat up and push it forward, as the manual shows.

    Press the back of the seat down until it clicks.
