How to Assemble IKEA HYLLIS Shelf Unit

- Phillips screwdriver
You’ll need: a Phillips screwdriver.

Step-by-step assembly
Step 1
Push a plastic foot (157476) onto the end of each post.
It fits into the inside corner of the angle.
Step 2 · manual step 1
Do the same on the other 2 posts — 4 feet in total.
Step 3 · manual step 2
Stand the 3 shelves up between 2 posts lying on the floor.
Line up the holes in the posts with the holes in the shelves.
Step 4 · manual step 2
Screw each shelf to both posts — 6 screws (190018).
Step 5 · manual step 3
Place the other 2 posts on top of the shelves.
Step 6 · manual step 3
Screw these posts to each shelf from the top — 6 screws (190018).

Then 6 more screws (190018) into the sides.
The manual’s close-up shows a screw from the top and one into the side at each corner.

Turn the unit over.

Screw the posts to the shelves on this side too — 6 screws (190018).
Step 10 · manual step 5
Stand the shelf unit upright.
Step 11 · manual step 5
Tighten all 24 screws.
Step 12 · manual step 5
Place the shelf unit against the wall.
To prevent tip-over, it must be fixed to the wall.

Screw both back posts to the wall near the top — 2 screws.
Wall screws and plugs are not included — use ones suited to your wall.
Tips & safety
- Always fix HYLLIS to the wall. Furniture tip-over can cause serious or fatal crushing injuries. If unsure which screws and plugs suit your wall, ask a specialist.
