How to Assemble IKEA TÄRNÖ Table+2 Chairs

Step-by-step assembly
Step 1
In the box: the slatted tabletop and the folded legs.
The two leg frames are already joined where they cross.
Step 2
Lay the tabletop upside down on a soft surface.
The two metal rails and the centre block face up.
Step 3 · manual step 1
Hold the folded legs over the tabletop and open them out.
The pins at the top ends of the legs go to the rails.
Step 4 · manual step 1
Hook the 4 pins into the keyhole slots at the ends of the rails.
Push each pin through the round hole and slide it into the narrow end.
Step 5 · manual step 1
Check the other rail: both pins sit in the narrow end of the slots.
Step 6 · manual step 2
Line up the hole in the leg frame’s plate with the centre block.
The threaded insert is in the middle of the block.
Step 7 · manual step 2
Screw the knob (123750) through the plate into the insert.
Turn it by hand until it’s tight — this locks the legs open.
Step 8
Turn the table the right way up.
Tips & safety
- To fold the table: unscrew the knob, then unhook the legs. Press the leg frames together to free the pins from the slots — manual page 4.
- Keep the knob screwed into the insert while the table is folded. The manual shows it stored there, in the centre block — page 4.
- This manual covers the table only. The two TÄRNÖ chairs in the set are folding chairs — no assembly steps for them here.
